Services
The goal of the HOPWA program is to assist HIV/AIDS infected/affected families living in New York City obtain transitional and permanent housing. HOPWA is an all-inclusive program that fights homelessness by employing intake, assessment and life skills training to prepare consumers for independent living. Our Independent Living Skills workshops include:
- Money Management
- Health and Hygiene
- Types of housing available, how to negotiate with the landlord and other housing providers

Eligibility Requirements
Individuals and families infected/affected by HIV/AIDS are eligible for HOPWA housing services. In addition, the program locates apartments, negotiates with landlords and assists with securing benefits from HASA (when appropriate). Once housed eligible clients receive a household start-up kit that may include pots, pans and other needed household items.
