Food Pantry & Nutrition
BATF is also a long standing member of ANSA (AIDS Nutrition Services Association).The BATF pantry program provides nutritious pantry bags to Brooklyn families as well as nutritional assessments. The pantry also provides nutrition and cooking demonstration workshops, assessments and Body Impedance Analysis (BIA) tests to the pantry participants. The pantry program is open to individuals once a week and is located in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. The BATF food pantry serves the communities of Flatbush, Bedford Stuyvesant, Downtown Brooklyn, and other neighboring Brooklyn communities.
We provide Food Stamp Screening
Nutrition Screens: BATF provides access to nutrition assessments to all BATF program clients and individuals who access the Pantry Program. Nutrition services include at least 2 assessments, a Body Impedance Analysis (BIA) test. The registered Dietician/Nutritionist assess the individual nutritional needs of the clients and makes appropriate recommendation for pantry bag content based on the clients’ health needs.
