ADOLESCENT UNIT/ Youth and Young Adult Programs
YAYA delivers programs in a group setting with a mission to change behavior by helping youth to label a behavior as risky and giving them alternatives. The result is changed behavior. YAYA Programs include:
Touch of Love. 12week educational workshops for children age 7 - 12 yrs.
• Topics include: myths about HIV, medicine safety, dental visits
• Suitable for: Daycare Centers, Elementary Schools, Middle Schools
“PEP It Up Program / Brooklyn Rainbow Youth. 12week educational workshops for adolescents 13-19 yrs.
• Topics include: self esteem, decision making, dating, HIV and safer sex
• Suitable for: NYC High Schools, alternative high schools, GED Centers, after schools programs and youth services agencies
Advanced Peer Education Program. (Ongoing educational workshops for youth 16-19yrs.
• Topics include: facilitation skills and creating a health education video
• An on-site program
Parenting Journey. 12week educational workshops for parents.
• Topics include: nurturing, decision making and communication, HIV
• Suitable for: NYC Schools, GED Centers, Adult Learning Centers, Shelters and Treatment programs
