About Us

Letter from Dr. Primm

As Founder and Chairman of the BATF Board of Directors since its’ inception, I continue to be amazed at the extraordinary accomplishments of my colleagues at the Brooklyn AIDS Task Force. This year has been particularly challenging, and BATF staff continues to meet that challenge on a daily basis. BATF received seven new grants this year that will allow us to provide additional services to our clients. Medical Health and Research Association funds support four new initiatives: Early Intervention Services (EIS), Co-factors, Evidence Based Harm Reduction, New York City Communities of Color HIV/AIDS Coalition (NYCOCHAC), the Fledgling Foundation and NYCDOHMH NYNY Scattered Site III. The first three grants will allow us to provide Hepatitis C, HIV, Mental Health, Substance Abuse and STD screening through our mobile van. Funding from the New York City Communities of Color HIV/AIDS Coalition and the Fledgling Foundation supports the work of Randi Baker, our Community Resource Coordinator. Her research allows BATF outreach staff to target high risk populations that are not engaged in care and bring them in for screening and ultimately into primary care. To learn more about this cutting edge research.

To make a donation in support of our work, please contact Elaine Greeley, Executive Director at BATF (718)-622-2910, x111. Your ongoing support of our work is gratefully appreciated.

Respectfully,

Dr. Beny J. Primm
BATF Board Chairman
